Wild Rice Tour

Location: San Marcos River
Distance 2 miles
Duration: 1.5 hours

Enjoy the natural beauty of the headwaters of the San Marcos River and its crystal clear waters. A guide will lead you down stream where you will  learn the history behind the oldest dam in Texas. Along the trip you will also see the Texas wild rice which is only found in the San Marcos River!  Paddle to the famous Rio Vista Falls and keep a sharp eye open for all the fish, birds and turtles along the way.

Come and enjoy the beautiful river with a wonderful opportunity to watch wildlife on our guided river trips. During these trips you will also learn a little history about the San Marcos River and the amazing facts that make it so unique.

At this time we are offering individual guided trips in three different locations on the San Marcos River.

San Marcos Tour
Distance: 6 miles long
Average time: 4 hours

This tour begins near the head waters of the San Marcos River. Here you will see the pristine spring fed water which allows you to see all the fish and various plant life. Since the river is spring fed the water is a continual tempter of *72 year .   Please note: Everyone will be required to carry their canoe/kayaks around three different damIMAG0677s during this tour.


Martindale Tour
Distance: 5 miles
Average time: 3 hours

If you like fun little rapids this is the tour for you. The first half of the trip you will paddle through a few sets of class I rapids while the second half of the tour is calm with little current allow you the opportunity to relax and watch for wildlife. There is even an Bald Eagle that has been spotted several times on this tour.

Enjoy a relaxing paddle away from the city lights on the calm waters of the San Marcos River.  Hear the owls and see the moon and stars.

Wine Tasting Tour

Location: San Marcos City Park – San Marcos River Retreat
Distance: 7 miles
Duration: 4 hours (water time) + wine time
$95 Per Person

Join us for a morning of paddling on the clear waters of the San Marcos River. Upon our completion we will gather at Three Dudes Winery, which is located on the San Marcos River less than two miles from where our paddle ends.  You are invited to enjoy a delightful wine tasting and light snacks creating a wonderful completion to a gentle paddle down the river.

You provide the cake and we will provide the kayaks or canoes for hours of fun!

Distance: Up to 7 miles  (We can do a full day with longer mileages and adjusted rates)

$250.00 – flat rate for the group
$175.00 – each additional guide

Have a professional guide you and your group down various locations on the San Marcos River. We will help you have an enjoyable trip as we direct and assist you with various challenges you might encounter paddling down the river.

We also offer guided trips in other locations for additional fees. Please contact for information.

*Canoes/kayaks are not included in the price. We do have canoes and solo kayaks available to rent for groups we are guiding.
